Day 3

Blessed are those who believe without seeing.
John 20:24–29

In John 20:24–29, Thomas struggled to believe that Jesus had risen because he had not seen him. He said, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” But when Jesus appeared and invited him to touch his wounds, Thomas immediately believed and declared, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus then responded with a powerful truth: “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” This blessing is for all of us who trust in Christ, even though we cannot see him with our physical eyes.

Like Thomas, we may sometimes hesitate in our faith, wanting proof before fully trusting in God’s plan. But faith is not about seeing—it is about believing in God’s goodness, promises, and presence even when we don’t feel it or understand his ways. We can strengthen our trust by spending time in Scripture, remembering God’s faithfulness in our own lives, and leaning on his promises. Just as Jesus met Thomas in his doubt, he meets us where we are, reminding us that we are blessed when we believe, even without seeing. Let’s choose to trust him daily, knowing that he’s always with us—guiding, loving, and strengthening our faith.
